How to ask for work when your diary is empty

I’ve recently worked with a number of creative clients who have found themselves going through a quiet phase in their careers. They have hired me because they’ve felt too embarrassed to reach out and ask for work.

‘I hate it,’ they say. ‘I have always been someone who was seen as successful and now work has dried up, I don’t want to admit that I’m struggling. I used to look down on people who were hustling for work. It seems a bit desperate.’

So, whether you are just starting out or you have several platinum records hanging on your wall, periods of little or no work can be common and scary in a creative career,

So, today’s video blog shows how to avoid the common traps that people fall into in these phases and some tips on how to get out and network in a way that feels good.

So what tips do you have to get work in the quiet times? Do leave a comment or two so we can all benefit from your wisdom!
